45-year-old Brooklyn-based artist, born in Louisville, KY. Graduated with a BF in fine arts from SCAD. Moved to Brooklyn at the end of October 2003. Worked for Colossal for 15 of the past 20 years. Currently since 2015. I enjoy scary stories, myths, cryptozoology, the paranormal, ufos, pretty much a sci-fi/horror enthusiast. A bit of a nerd about it.

STATEMENT

I find my creative outlet mainly through painting. This is my first sculpture. It’s been a while since I’ve tapped into non-commercial creativity. This body of work is based on anger and frustration with the world we live in and the foul history of the United States. I want this work to shake the viewer out of the screen haze and into an accurate reflection of the times we live in. Pretty & perfection is for the ads we paint. If my work offends you, then maybe consider why. If it scares you, then join the club, they scare me too. My intention for this work is to show what it is growing up in this racist country and how it feels to be expected to always turn the other cheek.
